Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AgB.2ACI/1144.2 Message Board Post: The Chalk Hill precinct was (and is) around Gaston SC, so somebody living there would be your best source about the exact locations. The Chalk Hill plantation was the residence of William Geiger (~1754-1829) and his wife Mary Ann Kaigler Kersch (~1754-1837, widow of Godfrey Kersh). The plantation was on Dry Creek. Since almost every county had at least one "Dry Creek", that doesn't narrow it down very much. But somebody who currently lives there should be able to tell you where it was. A lot of Orangeburgh District residents who were in Lexington Co just after the Rev War got re-assigned to Calhoun Co later, so you'd want to look for their records there as well. But Gaston was/is definitely in Lexington Co, so that's where to look for Chalk Hill records.
