He married Lillian (Lillie) LOCKMAN and they had a daughter named Sarah Louise SHEALY (probably born around the turn of the century). Sarah went by the name of Louise. Louise SHEALY married Liston Livingston WOODCOCK about 1920 and they lived in Pelzer, Anderson, SC. Louise died in the 1970's I think and she was 78 years old when she died. I have no dates on William SHEALY - I only know that he died relatively young and that Lillie remarried a "Doc" Murray. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. I know that he was a traveling salesman and met my Great Grandmother while staying at a boarding house that her parents ran. She named her son (my grandfather) either Namon or Raymond Jacob Furtick. I have a half brother (Mark Furtick that lives in Belmont, NC). I would love to know much more about it. I have an aunt Lois Farris that has helped me with what I know. She is from Bessemer City. I am trying to find a connection to the other three. William (my line) was the only one left in Chatham Co by 1790. My great grandmother, Virginia's first four children were born in Alabama There is also a listing of L.V. Hooks that married Wm. F. Derrick on Mar 4, 1880 which makes me think maybe her middle name was Virginia. the 1876-1888 Marriage Licenses for Collin County, Texas shows: Derrick, Wm F. --L.V. Hooks married 1880 by J. S. Rike. (It also shows a marriage license for George L Derrick and M.R. Hendricks in 1880) After Virginia died before 1897 and thought to have died apprx 1892-1893, Wm. married a widow around 1897 by the name of Laura Vernon. They had two children: According to the 1900 Soundex-- Children by William A.and Virginia (LV?) Hooks Derrick are: Chester, b. 1883 Claude b. 1885 Pearl Viola,b. She was one of 11 children and her mother (Virginia) died when she was a little girl. Her father raised them.
