Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AgB.2ACI/513.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Holy cow! I NEVER expected to get back beyond Fair Jones or figure out who his family was! What tipped you off that he's part of this family? (I wondered if he was because of physical proximity in the census records.) This is my husband's family, and his father and uncles never could provide much information on their father's family due to troubles encountered during the Great Depression. I've got census images for various Nathaniel Joneses, Patience Jones, etc. which should provide approximate birth years. I don't hold out much hope of getting their death dates, unless they were buried at a cemetary that's been inventoried. Have you had a chance yet to look in the SC archives for any land or probate records in the Edgefield or Pee Dee area for these folks?

Chaney is buried in the Schofield Cemetery near Pelion. Go past Pelion on Hwy. #302 toward Aiken, turn right on Harley Quarter Road. Maybe a 1/2 mile you will see a beick home on the right. You turn beside the home onto a field road. A short distance is a gate. If you can get through the gate the cemetery is on the left about 4 blocks. Franklin Lucas lives there in the house by the cemetery and is kept up by him. My Huckabees are connected to the Schofields. J/O/B. Chaney had business dealings with my great grandfather, John Jacob Howell, (1804-1868). You may email me at jhowell@mybluelight.com
