Thomas Taylor of the Rev. War. Thomas Taylor was known as the "father of Columbia". He sold the land for the city of Columbia commenting," They took a good plantation and made a damn poor town out of it". It was stated one of the descendants of Thomas Taylor moved to the Lexington District and most of the Lexington Taylors are descended from him.

I have looked back on some records and I find a Mary Jefcoat born in 1855 in the lexington area the parents are Orry and Vandy Jefcoat.
