Folks, I am trying to compile a book on my Oswald/t family before my aunts and mother (ages 94, 92, 87 )become too disabled to enjoy it. I have been working on this genealogy for at least 25 + years. I am including pictures, recipes, and stories as well as genealogical information If you have any Oswald/t connections and/or related stories, etc., please share them with me. I am finally drawing my information into a book form and want any last little bit of information I can find on Oswald/ts. I appreciate your help in this and will be glad to share information with anyone. Thanks so very much, Hope Oswald Creasman hardwoods@mindspring.com

According to Frederick L. Watt's book "Descendants & Allied Families of Early Carolina Backcountry Immigrants, ca 1700-1994" - here is a John Jackson Kyzar, 1854-1935 who married Charlotta Louise Gartman, 1860-1949. "Aunt Lottie Gartman Kyzar" was my grandfather's half-sister. She and John Kyzar were born in Mississippi in families which several generations earlier were in Lexington Co, SC. They were married in 1876 at Otts Mill, LA (Ott is another Orangeburg Dist. name) and soon moved with Gartman and Roberts kin to San Saba Co, TX. Both are buried at Union Band Cemetery near their farm on the Mason Co/San Saba Co line. Watts lists 10 children for the John J. Kyzar family. He shows John J. Kyzar to be the son of John Frederick Kyzar and Eliza Morgan Kyzar. Look for traces of the family in Copiah Co, MS where John Jackson Kyzar was born. Since John Kyzar is the name in several Kyzar generations, this may not be the particular John Kyzar about whom you seek information. -Bob Gartman

I'm sure that the Mary Williams I have listed is a different one. And I still believe that this is James Williams, Jr.s wife, not a sister. I doubt that Elias and James were brothers, although I guess they could be. First names in these families are not similar, and James' family seemed to use the same names throughout the generations. He and his family moved to the Sandy Run area in 1833 from near Salley SC. Do you know of any brothers/sisters or parents of Elias Williams? I knew something was "fishy" when on 1850 and 1860 census he was listed not with his family but in a nearby family. Thanks for the info, Dennis

I am very curious as to who the parents of Mary Leanna Williams are. I figure she was either the daughter of Elias Williams or James Williams(1787-1866, my ggg-grandfather). There was a Mary Williams listed in the old family Bible, that no one could account for. One of his son's wife's name was Mary, and I thought they may have been listing her. Dennis Williams
