Deed Book Y, page 229, 1883, has Rhoda Kennedy estate surveyed. Designated Tract #3, 449 acres, to make 4 tracts of 110 1/2 acres each. Plat is included, with northern boundary having direction of North 84 1/2 degrees East. I did not copy down any other details. A small amount of the tract is on the east side of the road that goes from Poplar Springs Church to Laurens. J. O. Fleming adjoins that eastern boundary. N. D. Kennedy is shown on the south. I drew this tract on my modern topographical map located about 1 mile south of Pop. Spr. Ch. The 1883 map of Laurens Co. shows J. O. C. Flemings property at about this location, but shows "Kennedy's Est. at about 1.5 miles south of Pop. Spr. Ch. M. O. Kennedy is shown about 3 miles south of Pop. Spr. Ch. on the west side of the road. The 1865 Tax Records show C. M. Kennedy with 510 acres, Capt. N. O. with 450 acres, Mrs. Leana Est. with 450 acres, and Nancy Kennedy with 70 acres. The above deed suggests that Roda Kennedy owned at least 3 tracts of land, and that there were probably 4 heirs to his estate. Is this correct? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard A.
