Deed O-18, 1840, has Seth Wilbur selling 155 acres to Marshal Starnes. "Details on plat annexed, Deed of James F. Pinson from father John Pinson, 19 May, 1817. Witnesses James M. Young and A. C. Jones. The above land was sold to Seth Wilbur in Deed M-26, 1828. James Pinson sold 155 acres on Cane Cr. to Seth Wilbur of Abbeville. Witness Marshal Starnes. A plat is shown, but no neighbors are named. My notes show that Deed K-192 had John Pinson, Jr., selling this land to son James Pinson. Deed Q-76, no date in my notes, but recorded in 1854, has Marshall Starnes selling 129 acres on Cane Cr. to Robert C. Starnes. A plat is shown that looks pretty much like the plat in M-26 based on the sketches that I made for my notebook. James Lowe and Wm. Hitt are shown on the east, Marshal Starnes on the south, Capt. Robert Cunningham on the west, (which would be across modern Hwy 221) and Howard Pinson on the north. Deed P-196 has a plat of Robert Cunninghams property (being transferred to John Cunningham), survey April 8, 1848. Neighbors are Howard Pinson, Marshal Starnes, Wm. Baxter, Neely Pucket, and Nimrod Overby.
