Surnames: BARKSDALE RUSSELL Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YeB.2ACI/540 Message Board Post: Seeking any info on a John Barksdale b/1780-1790/SC married before 1811 to Mary Unknown b/1780/SC and died after 1860/Jefferson Co., AL---I find a John Barksdale the right age listed on the 1830 laurens Co., SC Census and then he shows up on the 1840 Jefferson Co., AL census-- Possible children would have been John A. Barksdale b/aft 1811 and William H. Barksdale b/1811 both in SC---William was on the 1840 Jefferson Co., AL census as was John A. Barksdale---By 1850 John Barksdale, Sr is no longer on a census that I can find but a Mary Barksdale is listed on the 1850 and 1860 Jefferson Co., AL census living in the HH of Hiram Russell. William was on the 1850 Lafayette Co., MS census and possible John A. was the John A. Barksdale listed as a sheriff on the Prarie Co., AR census. Any help with this John Barksdale and his family would be appreciated.
