I am trying to identify the above branches on the northeast side of Little River below Laurens. The above names (maybe Spence instead of Spears) appear in Deeds around 1840. There are 4 branches that might match 1 or more of the above names. First one joins LRiv 1.5 miles below Laurens Court House (LCH). The 1883 map shows S.W.Simpson, K.Taylor, and D.Cannon on this stream. Second one joins LR 2.8 miles below LCH. This one drains water from Lakeside Country Club. The 1883 shows James Milam on this stream. Third one joins LR 3.7 miles below LCH. This stream is not shown on the 1883 map. Fourth joins LR about 4.5 miles below LCH. This is the shortest of the branches. The 1883 map shows a mill site on this stream. I believe that John and Susan Boyd lived on this stream. It was called Boyds Mill Creek in the Deed. Definitely not Boyds Mill Pond on Reedy River. If you can supply modern day names for any of these branches it will be a help to me. Thanks, Richard Lorenz
