Searching for the parents of Nicholas Garrett, born Dec. 23, 1799 in SC, probably in Spartenburg or Laurens Co. Died Oct 17, 1867 near Middlefork, Henderson Co. TN. Name on tombstone is Nicholas Garrett - name has also been recorded as James Nicholas. Married Eleanor (Ellen or Elender also recorded) Rhodes, daughter of William Rhodes and Rebecca Wofford c 1820-1822. Sold land in Spartenburg Co. SC 1835 prior to moving to Henderson Co. TN with several Rhodes families. Any clues as to Nicholas' parents would be appreciated. Also would be very interested in a marriage date for Nicholas and Ellen Rhodes. Ellen's father, Rev.
