Richard W. Fowler has published 2 volumes on Laurens Co. Teagues. Titles: Laurens Co. Kinfolk. Don't know if they are still available. Richard Lorenz
I have first edition copies given to me by Richard Fowler of both volumes of his 'Kinfolk of Laurens County'. Although one is on the Teague and another on the Benjamin family, many families of Laurens are included. I correspond with Richard and know that he is working on an updated version which will probably include a CD. He has cross referenced over 50,000 names in Laurens. He and I are 2nd cousins and both ggrandchildren of George Washington Lafayette Teague and Susan Barksdale Forgy. His grandfather (George Oswald Teague, Sr. b. 7/10/1877 married to Annie Byrd Benjamin) and mine (Edgar Walter Teague, b 6/23/1879 married to Josephine McPherson) were brothers. As far as getting a copy of the existing work, I believe there are none available except what is in the libraries. I believe I got the last copy. However, if anyone would like to get on a mailing list to receive a copy of his upcoming revision, you may email him directly at [email protected] His father passed away in early January and he has been extremely busy with professional committments, so it may take him some time to respond. You may also contact me (Shirl A. Steward) and I'll also pass your request on to him. With Richard's help, I am trying to find connections between the various Hill families in Laurens. My ggrandfather James Cason Hill (5/28/1838-7/22/1917)married Lucy Meadows Hill (my ggdmother) and Florence Ann Hill. These two were sisters and both the daughters of Wiley P. Hill (9/27/1798-3/18/1872) and Harriet A. Meador (11/15/1821-9/11/1885). James was son of Rev. John Silas Hill (2/16/1810 to 8/8/1845) and Rebecca Bruce Pitts (b. 3/16/1814). Anyway I just happened to see my cousin Richard's name mentioned. If anyone has any specific questions, I will try to help. Shirl A.
