There was a Rudd family that lived near White Plains Ranch, not far from Cross Hill in the southern part of the county. The first census record I have in my notes is T. A.? in 1850, age 32. There was an Anthony later, and Armstrong Rudd owned land there. There were also Reeds in the area and the names can be confused. Richard Lorenz
