Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YeB.2ACI/468.1.1.1 Message Board Post: hi penny -------- i cannot identify your james harris but this was my harris family both in laurens co, sc and paulding co, ga and it certainly seems like we must have related harris family. in fact, my charles harris was also involved with a john miller. my charles harris, son of my william harris, jr, who d 1799 laurens co, sc, and james young appraised the estate of john miller ca 1814 laurens co, sc. my archibald harris, son of charles harris, m ca 1826 elizabeth carter, dau of robert carter, jr also of laurens co, sc. by 1830, my arch harris was near my robert carter, jr in gwinnette co, ga and my charles harris in adjacent dekalb co, ga. then all were on the 1834 cobb co, ga state census. ca 1855, my arch harris moved from paulding co, ga to benton co, now cleburne co, al. his son, my james h harris, who m anne cooper, dau of jesse and rebecca darby cooper of union co, sc, died 1872 paulding co, ga. i know my william harris, jr, per his estate papers, also had sons: thomas; john; and william harris and am wondering if your james harris could have descended from one of these other sons??? i would really appreciate hearing from you--------sincerely, belva harris cauthen
