He is believed to have been born between 1730-1740. He married Margaret McNees, daughter of John McNees and it appears he purchased land in Laurens Co. on Nov. 14, 1770. He was the son of William Rodgers and appears to have come to Laurens Co., SC from Charlotte Co., VA. From various sources it appears he had 5 children, John Leander, Mary, Andrew, McNees and another daughter. I do not have a date of marriage for John and Margaret McNees Rodgers but think they were married sometime between 1750-1760. If someone could find a marriage record it would help as I don't even know if they were married in VA or SC. Both families were in VA prior to 1770.
