South, daughter of James South. Probably born in Dials TWP, Laurens Co. Possible familial connections to William Hellams (CSA) and/or Y.C. (Yancey?) Hellams (CSA) since all appear on the muster rolls for Haygood's Brigade. Son Ruben Franklin Hellams (Jack) moved to Birmingham, so possible family connections there.
