I have ancestors (James Downing / wife Jane Haulken (spelling is questionable: may be Hawkin or even Alcorn) who lived on Reaborn Creek from approx 1786 to 1797. I'd like to know any general information which might be available about this area and time as it might be helpful for trying to figure out where these folks came from. Were there groups of people who migrated in from other areas? Thanks! Lois in California
