    3. The Laurens County Library would likely have a book of marriage of the mid 1800s. However, all will not be included. Right now, I do not remember when everyone had to apply for a license at the Court Houses. If someone was married in church, the marriage was recorded there. So many early church records have been lost. I live in Greenwood, SC which is 28 miles from Laurens. We have a lot of books on Laurens and I will check in the books of marriage records section for Laurens County marriages. It may be later this week before I can get there. Joyce <joymac@gogenesis.com> http://www.geocities.com/joymac117/ My Web Page includes history on Greenwood, SC and surrounding counties, misc. items, inspirations links to other great sites. Enjoy! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Margie King" <heyred@knology.net> To: <SCLAUREN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 25, 2006 11:01 PM Subject: Re: [SCLAUREN] Laurens Marriage Records > Did any one answer this question, I would like to know the answer also. > M. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Ellen Hodge" <magnoliaeast@rocketmail.com> > To: <SCLAUREN-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Friday, June 23, 2006 11:40 AM > Subject: [SCLAUREN] Laurens Marriage Records > > >> Where would one find marriage records of the mid 1800's for Laurens >> County? >> >> >> ============================== >> Search the US Census Collection.
