Richard, Below it states the deeded land was bordered by Jesse Holder, Wm. Cannon, and Soloman Langston. I understand this to say Wm Cannon had other land that bordered this land which he possibly sold earlier to Joseph Lenard, who then later sold at least a portion, if not all, to John Mahon. You are right. It is not possible from this deed to tell if William's bordering property was also a part of the original Cooper land grant. I am hoping to get a copy of Sarah Nash's book that abstracts the deeds recorded up to 1829. Not all deeds were recorded, so I don't know if there is any more information about Wm.
