My GG Grandfather, Silas Medlock, was born near 1800 in Laurens, SC. If anyone can provide me with more info. re the Medlocks that generation or before, I would be most grateful. In particular, I am most interested in when they came to Laurens. Same for the Murff family of that time, who seem to be somewhat related to the Medlocks. Cleburne, There is an ongoing DNA Project for the Medlock and Matlocks. There have been several from this line take the test. It might help you further your research if you take the test and see how closely realated your are.
