Bass during the civil war. They both served in Company K, 3rd S.C. Regiment. I was told that GW Died 4/11/90, and was Buried at the Warrior Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Laurens County. If anyone in Laurens can furnish me with any information about this G.W. Bass, or even the location of the Cemetery it would be greatly appreciated. I have attached G.W.'s service record, and my gggrandfather's service record can be viewed at http://www.bassfamiliesofthesouth.com under military records. Thanks guys and girls.
There is a G. W. Bass, age 50, in the 1870 census, page 145, dwelling 99. Wife Isabella 32, Marion A. T. 7, and Sam 1. They lived near Rocky Springs Church, I believe. In the same year census, Stephen Bass was listed on page 272, dwelling 179, age 59. There is confusion in my notes about his wife and children. They lived north of Warrior Creek Church. Warrior Cr. Ch. is about 3 miles northwest of Ora at the intersection of highways 40 and 660. Warning: Check the original census records to be certain that I have not made any errors.
