Richard, I saw your post about Zachariah Bailey and the Beaverdam Church and I just had to write to find out if perhaps your Zachariah was related to William Holcomb Bailey or Luvicey Bailey or any Crumptons. I am researching a Crumpton and Coleman family from that area (trying to find out who was the father of Samuel Crumpton -born 1834- ) This Samuel Crumpton Married a Cynthia Bailey and moved to Ponotoc MS in the 1850's and then when that Cynthia died in 1887 he married a Cynthia Coleman in 1888 who I believe may have been a cousin to the first Cynthia but not sure. I know there there are Colemans and Bailey's buried at the Beaverdam Baptist Church cemetary and I know that in 2-23-1797 there was a deed for 28 acres on Beaver Dam creek that indexed the named of William & Samuel Crumpton as well as a John Coats and John Hunter and Jarole Chondler but I can't figure out if that was actually the same land that the Beaverdam Baptist church was on. Anyway, if you know about any Crumpton's your family tree and how they may connect with your Zachariah Bailey I would love to hear from you. Thanks so much, Beth - _bkradar@aol.com_ (mailto:bkradar@aol.com) p.s. If anyone knows how I can find out the history on the Crumpton House in Ridgeway I would love to hear from you.
The only Samuel Crumpton / Compton that I have in my census notes appeared before 1830. In the 1800s, the Crumptons and Comptons lived in the northern part of the county, not near Beaverdam Church. There is a Beaverdam Creek in the northern part of the county. Also nothing on Wm. H. Bailey.
