    3. Some general information about Mahons. The Laurens County Scrapbook, page 73: "Ben Neighbors, J. Deweese, and Northcutt preached a long time at a stand near Bailey Mahon before Raburn's Creek Church was organized". Deed Book P, page 16, 1845, has Eugene Brevard of Camden selling 4 acres to Bailey Mayhon, Thos. Gradon, and Drury Boyce. Rabun Creek Baptist Church is mentioned. I believe that the 3 recipients were trustees of the Church. The Treeclimber, 11-4 page 74, reprints information from the Greenville Daily News, Sat. Aug 26, 1876, Laurens Co. items. "Thomas Mahon, a highly respected citizen, aged 70 years, died at his home on Rabun's Creek on Wednesday 23rd inst.". The 1883 map shows a T. Mahon living near Rabon Church. I don't know if there are any records surviving from this church. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard A.
