He was my ggrandfather. He seems to have dropped from the sky!! He is listed on the 1850 census of Rutherford Co with mother Elizabeth (SC), Barney, Washington, Stacy, son?, and William J. There were several land grants from the Civil War and two or three of the sons were given land in both Alabama and Mississippi. I think that explains why they were all over the south. Do you have any thing that connects with this? I believe William J was a JR and his father married Saluda Nash but can't backup with facts yet. Please respond if this sounds familiar.
