I'm attempting to learn the connection between the Richland/Kershaw County Higgins family and the ones in Laurens County. Benjamin, of Richland (ca 1753-1824) lived in Richland; one son (James B.) went to Laurens, most of the rest of the siblings stayed in Richland. James m. Hannah Higgins, son of a William (ca 1740-1820). I'd like to know how this William connects to Benjamin. Could Wm. and Benj. have been brothers? Cousins? Any ideas out there?
