    3. James Craddock in 1830 and Dibby / Libby Craddock in 1850 lived near Joanna as far as I can tell. I will recheck my locations. Richard Lorenz [ Richard thanks for this information ] Brenda Compton [email protected] Hello, list, this was sent to me from Richard, does any one have any information to where this family came from and the children they had? I would appreciate any help. Does anyone have any information on the Horan Family? These people were in Laurens and the area/ I have a James Craddock that came to Laurnens County and is on the 1829 census of Laurens County; we don't know if he was born in Laurens or was passing thorugh, he migrated to Alb. then to Texas. James Craddock was born in 1810 and here are some notes: Part of notes from the Laurens County Library: He was married to Permelia Horan (daughter of Willam Horan and Anna Bowlin Simpson) about 1829 in South Carolina. Permelia Horan9 was born in 1810 in South Carolina.3,7,8,5,6 She died between 1870 and 1880 in Texas. Died between 1870 and 1880. Descendants of John Simpson Generation No. 1 1. JOHN1 SIMPSON1 was born 1733. He married BARBARA BOWLIN2. She was born in Ireland. Notes for JOHN SIMPSON: As of early 1999 we do not have any information on the previous generation. This John Simpson was the youngest of three brothers, William, Alexander and John, born in Ireland. His nephew, "Col" John, wed Mary Wells on September 21, 1786, Holmes - i.e. "The Simpson Genealogy". "The Scrapbook", p.337, says that John Simpson bought land in South Carolina in 1785. I suspect that the person who bought that land was William's brother John, Barbara's husband. Alexander and John came together with their families sometime between 1782 and 1789, the years of the known Irish/American births of two of their children. Their son Alexander and daughter Nancy were born between those years, in 1784 and 1786, respectively, but my sources do not specify location. Alexander's son Alexander died in his youth which might have been associated with typical disease-plagued sea-voyages at that time. One scenario would be that William's brothers Alexander and John, left Ireland with their families about 1784/1785 and little Alexander, Jr. succumed. That would have placed William's brothers Alexander and John Simpson in SC, where both of them could have obtained land by 1785. William had already arrived in late 1772, taking his land in early 1773. For more on this genealogy see the document "The Simpson Genealogy" by Rev. Zelotes L. Holmes. A copy may be obtained from the Laurens County South Carolina Public Library. A web page version has been posted at: http://www.geocities.com/bourbonstreet/4492/fam.htm 1.
