    3. Looking for information on the SMITHS and SCOTTS in Laurens Co, SC during the early 1800's; in particular the parents of SAMUEL SCOTT, who was born 31 Mar 1808 in SC; and his wife RUTH SMITH (b. 25 Nov 1809 in SC). They were married on 10 Nov 1831. Samuel and Ruth moved to Pontotoc Co/Union Co, MS between 1848-1850. 3. This post was of interest to me because of the migration pattern. My line is through the PITTS and DAVENPORTs. I have a Cicely DAVENPORT married to a Charles SCOTT in early 1800s. My line also moved from Laurens County to Pontotoc/Union/Lee County area of MS about 1861. Does anyone have any historical information on why these people of Laurens/Newberry County chose this area of MS to move to at this particular time? I know my branch was affiliated with the Pontotoc Pioneers Church in Poplar Springs, MS.
