    1. McCreary, Jeanes, Duckett,etc. property
    2. Richard A. Lorenz
    3. I cannot help with John's wife. According to my census correlation, John and son Mathew lived near Renno. Some Deeds follow. Deed Book M, page 114, 1828, the sheriff transferred 234 acres from estate of John McCreary to Robert McCreary, in the Duncan Creek watershed. Bordered Perry Jeans, Lydia ? Reeder, and Joseph Jeanes. Deed M-115, 1828, sheriff transferred 219 acres from the estate of John McCreary to Mathew McCreary, in Duncan Creek watershed. Bordered Richard Duckett, George Young, and a tract purchased by Robert McCreary. These 2 properties were also located near Renno, I believe, but am not certain. Deed S-563, 1872, sheriff transferred 400 acres to W. H. McCrary. Case John and Rufus McCrary executors vs. Mathew McCrary. Bordered Dr. Thos. Weir, Watts ? Copeland, and Joseph Janes ??. I believe that this property may have also been located near Renno. ----- Original Message ----- From: "JRA" <janie_reb_aingeal@yahoo.com> To: <SCLAUREN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 27, 2006 11:49 AM Subject: [SCLAUREN] McCrary Family > I am looking for the name of my Fourth Great Grandmother. 3. Richard, Thank you for the deeds. Do you know who the John & Rufus McCrary mentioned in the last are? I know one of my Sixth Great Grandfather Col. Robert McCrary's brother was Thomas, but I only have my direct line McCrary tree so the only John & Rufus I can think of are Third Great Grandfather John & his brother Rufus C. McCrary, but lived here in Georgia. Looking at the 'Estate of John McCrary, dec'd 1825' it mentions: Robert McCrary's receipt for the rent of Plantation - his distributive share for year 1825 paid May 29, 1826 - also $3.00 balance of Martha H. McCrary's share of rent after expenses. Grandfather John did not have any daughters named Martha that I am aware of, & none of the men married Martha's, so I am wondering if this Martha H. McCrary is Fifth Great Grandfather John's wife. Though perhaps a second wife for in the 1820 Census there are only two females, 2 10/16 & 2 16/26. I always think things would be easier for us all if census records had always listed names before 1850..lol. Sincerely, Lena "Richard A. 1. Re: Ferguson, Blakely, Little, Hipps property
    2. Richard A. Lorenz
    3. Does anyone know where this property is located? Deed Book P, page 89. No date on deed, but recorded in 1848. Wm. Turpin sold 382 acres in Duncan Creek watershed to T. J. Turpin. Granted John Rodgers in 1791, converted to Wm. Turpin, dec., by will to Wm. Turpin and Saml. Maverick, his 2 nephews, and then to Wm. Turpin. Deed P-180, 1848, Thos. J. Turpin sold 382 acres in Duncan Cr. watershed to Richard P. and John W. Ferguson. A plat is shown. Property borders Thos. Blakely on the north, Charles Little (now James Hipps' land) on the east, Joseph Hopper (now McKelvy Dalrymple's land) on the south, Mr. ? Davis on the southwest, and Maverick on the northwest. The transfer of Charles Little's property might be what is given in Deed N-255. No date on deed, but it was recorded in 1838. Charles Little and wife Lucinda sold 240 acres in Duncan Cr. watershed to James Hipps. Bordered James Hipps, Robert Tucker, Jeremiah Leak, Armstrong Leak, James McKelvy, and Wm. Turpin ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard A.
