I too have a question about one Adair branch.... James Adair b 8 May 1747 (or 8 Dec 1747) Bucks Co PA d 1831 Franklin Co IN m Rebecca Montgomery 1751-1835....(lived in Laurens Co SC) Does anyone have proof of THIS James Adair's parents?.... He was "reportedly proved to have been the son of Joseph Adair Sr, cooper, by the power of attorney issued by his brother Benjamin Adair (from Deed Bk G, p666?) I think this must refer to Joseph 1733-1812 and not James 1747-1831. Could James be son of Willam 1719-1782 m Mary Moore? I think James 1747-1831 is referred to James Adair "saddler"....and there is another James Adair Sr"cooper" whose wife was Elenor. All of this has always been a little confusing at least to me.
