It is difficult to tell from your posting what you know about the parents. The 1850 census suggests that Augustus, 15, was the son of James B. Higgins. My interpretation of census records is that a James B. lived near Lanford from 1810 to 1860. Don't know anything about James B's family except that there were a number of other Higgins living in the same vicinity from 1790 on. Richard Lorenz
