My name is Eddie Cox, I live in Belton, Anderson Co. SC. My Grant's - Neely's and Fooshe family connections in the Newberry, Laurens, Greenwood area are from my grandmother, Grace Pauline Grant, d/o Benjamin F. Grant. The first Grant member I can document is, Addison S. (Samuel) Grant, who died in Newberry Co. 14 Jan. 1848. His wife was Sarah (Sally) Neely Grant (d/o George Neely). They had five children together before Addison died. They were; George W. (Washington), William Henderson, John Samuel, Andrew A. and Francis Mariah (Mary) Grant. The children were born between 1839 and 1847, so I think Addison and Sarah were married around 1838. After Addison died Sarah married a Benjamin Fooshe. These families lived in all three counties at some point in time between 1810 and 1860. I have some info on these families but not much I did have a male Grant cousin take a FTDNA test last year before he passed away and it is listed on the Grant DNA project website.
