    1. George Goddard property & census- reply
    2. Richard A. Lorenz
    3. This may not help you much, but there was a George Goddard in the 1800,1810,1820,1829, and 1830 censuses. In 1829 there was both a senior and junior. In Deed Book M, page 8, 1826, Geo. Goddard, Sr. sold 134 acres to Jacob Niswanger. The property was bordered by Sam Freeman, Wm. Halls, and John Smith, being part of a tract granted to James Forster / Fowler. Witnesses Berry Watson and James Crocker. In Deed Book M, page 9, 1827, Geo. Gothard sold 125 acres to John Smith. The property was in the Saluda River and Reedy River watersheds. The land bordered John Smith, Sam Freeman?, John Watson, Henry Hazle, and Sam Hall. Witnesses Lilly? F. Wait and Franklin T. Wait ---- In Book M, page 109, 1829, FiFa suit David Anderson vs. sheriff. Land of Geo. Gothard, 100 acres on the Saluda River, was transferred (sold?) to John Smith. Land bordered John Smith and Wm. Gothard. (The FiFa action might have resulted from lack of paying taxes. I don't know). Richard Lorenz- Original Message ----- From: <mag905@sbcglobal.net> To: <SCLAUREN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, September 19, 2005 7:20 PM Subject: [SCLAUREN] George W. 3. I believe that this is Sarah Nash's book. I would also like to purchase a copy. As many of you know, I have the Deed Records for Books M through V in my computer and I share them with on-line users. I also have a printout index of these records at the Laurens County Library. I would very much like to have a copy of the Nash book so that I could reply to people interested in the earlier Deeds and other records. Sarah Nash's book covers Books A through L.
