    3. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kay McGregor Subject: Help!! List Members, I know that this request may not be the most proper etiquette-BUT I NEED YOUR HELP!! I desperately need verification and a copy of a marriage license that was performed somewhere in South Carolina. I am also a genealogist (25 yr), a mother and grandmother that is fighting to keep her grandson out of an very abusive and dysfunctional home of the other grandmother. Time is running out-they are packing to move in a very short time. The judge said that if I can prove that this marriage did exist, our daughter can get her son. The record I need was filed between 1990-1993 by LAWRENCE LINDOL CURTIS and TINA MARIE HARRIS/ALEXANDER/HOARD. I am praying that someone in each county lives close enough to the county seat to check it out for us. Please reply to me, and I will give you my fax number AND get your mailing info, so I can send you $50. to cover the cost and your expense. Thanks in advance to all that can help. 3. Posted on: Laurens Co. SC Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/SC/Laurens/10223 Surname: Arnold ------------------------- Princeton, Laurens Co., SC & ARNOLD surname. Ken, Two words triggered my attention to your message. The unknown parents of my gr gr gr grandfather, William D. Arnold, appears to be from the area of Princeton and Ware Shoals, SC just before 1800. I have knowledge of the line of Benjamin Arnold which owned Arnold's Mill at Tumbling Shoals on the Reedy River. Benjamin's line used the given name William, but try as I may, I cannot make a match to my William D. Arnold. I believe that my William D. is another Arnold line. William D. Arnold, b 1784, married Susannah Gaines and their first child was born 1911. Have you anything to share on this? Thanks, Dick Arnold

    3. I have first edition copies given to me by Richard Fowler of both volumes of his 'Kinfolk of Laurens County'. Although one is on the Teague and another on the Benjamin family, many families of Laurens are included. I correspond with Richard and know that he is working on an updated version which will probably include a CD. He has cross referenced over 50,000 names in Laurens. He and I are 2nd cousins and both ggrandchildren of George Washington Lafayette Teague and Susan Barksdale Forgy. His grandfather (George Oswald Teague, Sr. b. 7/10/1877 married to Annie Byrd Benjamin) and mine (Edgar Walter Teague, b 6/23/1879 married to Josephine McPherson) were brothers. As far as getting a copy of the existing work, I believe there are none available except what is in the libraries. I believe I got the last copy. However, if anyone would like to get on a mailing list to receive a copy of his upcoming revision, you may email him directly at [email protected] His father passed away in early January and he has been extremely busy with professional committments, so it may take him some time to respond. You may also contact me (Shirl A. Steward) and I'll also pass your request on to him. With Richard's help, I am trying to find connections between the various Hill families in Laurens. My ggrandfather James Cason Hill (5/28/1838-7/22/1917)married Lucy Meadows Hill (my ggdmother) and Florence Ann Hill. These two were sisters and both the daughters of Wiley P. Hill (9/27/1798-3/18/1872) and Harriet A. Meador (11/15/1821-9/11/1885). James was son of Rev. John Silas Hill (2/16/1810 to 8/8/1845) and Rebecca Bruce Pitts (b. 3/16/1814). Anyway I just happened to see my cousin Richard's name mentioned. If anyone has any specific questions, I will try to help. Shirl A. SC Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/SC/Laurens/243 Surname: TEAGUE ------------------------- Lauren Co. is were Josuah & Elizabeth Guantt (misspelled) Teague are suppose to be buried. There is a Rev. Teague, that lives in Gaffney, SC. But I don't know if he knows anything about the TEAGUES. I am really having trouble getting mine to contect. There is TEAGUE MOUNTAIN in TN. There used to be TEAGUE TOWN in KY. TEAGUE TOWN no longer exists. It was in Whitley Co. KY. There were a lot of TEAGUES WHITLEY all steming from the family that you are searching. They went into ALAmba. I am out of Isaac Teague. He is in the 1860 Knox Co. TN and 1860 Clay Co. KY census. They seem to be the same Isaac Teague. The Knox Co.KY 1860 census was taken in JUNE and the 1860 Clay Co. Ky was taken in Oct. Isaac must have moved from Knox to Clay. His name in Clay is misspelled. On Stephen Teagues death Cert for parents ? mark for mother. Isaac? Teague. There are Teagues listed in Laurel Co. KY. I wish I could tell you more. I have spoken with a man whose father was Fred/James Teague and was from NC but he doesn't know what area of NC. His father married Iva Woolum from Bell Co. KY I will try and keep in touch. Buncumbe NC has a lot of TEAGUES. You might check to see what counties from in that area. There is also a TEAGUE CEMTERY. If I can find the notes my daughter made I will email you the directions or address of this cemetery.
