Posted on: Laurens Co. SC Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/SC/Laurens/10243 Surname: Helms, Hellums, Hellems, Hellams, South ------------------------- Desperately seeking the parents/siblings of James Henry Hellams, CSA Haygood's brigade, born Dec. 1924, married Nicey (Narcissa?) South, daughter of James South. Probably born in Dials TWP, Laurens Co. Possible familial connections to William Hellams (CSA) and/or Y.C. (Yancey?) Hellams (CSA) since all appear on the muster rolls for Haygood's Brigade. Son Ruben Franklin Hellams (Jack) moved to Birmingham, so possible family connections there. Have hit a brick wall, any leads welcome. Janie
After a recent trip to the South Carolina archives, I discovered that the Richey line that I had was inaccurate. I would like to know if anyone has anymore information on John Richey who died in Laurens County in 1819. Also, there appears to be a connection to the Adair and Belton families. I would be interested in any information on these families before 1825. Thank you. Forrest King
I am searching for siblings and parents of James G. Entrekin, 1826-1886, who lived within a few miles of Joanna all his life except for around 1860 when he lived in Georgia. Married Nancy E. Unknown. Does anyone know of the relationship between James G. and John W. (1826-1860's)? Richard Lorenz
Hello I am looking for information relating to the plaque in Duncan Creek Presbyterian Church which commemorates the lives of the sixteen soldiers who served in the Revolution. I am looking for information on the service of Thomas Logan, who I believe is buried in the cemetery, but I couldn't find a headstone when I was there. Thomas, and his wife, Mary, were the parents of William and John, and possibly Jane who later married William Craig, ER. Jane and William are buried in the cemetery next to the church. If anyone could find out what service he performed, or more information on why he is listed on the plaque (maybe a local DAR member would know?) I would appreciate the information. Thank you for your time! Heather Logan

Looking for information on Sarah Box who married James McCain prior to 1804, when their first child was born in SC. I checked the 1800 SC census and found that the majority of the Box families lived in Laurens county. I'm hoping that someone may have additional information on where (or if) Sarah fits into one of these families. If we find a mutual connection, I will be happy to share what info I have on the descendents of Sarah Box and James McCain. Barry Fox Greenville, SC
