    1. [SCLAUREN] Catherine Andrews/CrossRoads Church
    2. Pam
    3. Wondering if anyone has ever run acrossed the name Catherine Andrews in any of their searches. She was born in 1805 I assume in Newberry/Lauren's Co. and last record of her was recorded in her fathers estate papers. (Rowland Andrew's) receiving her last part in 1826. This would be a ggg aunt, and I am hoping since I have hit a brick wall, looking for her might hold some answers? Doubtful finding her I know. And does any one have information on Crossroads Baptist church in Newberry or in the area? I know that part of Crossroads and Bush River churches joined and Mt. Zion Baptist Church was created. I have hunted the books for Mt. Zion and I ended up believing a family member of the church (family feuding) had the records or destroyed them thanks Pam Holmes [email protected]

    2. Bill McNeese
    3. I am researching the McNeese/McNees surname in SC. Last week I was in the Lauren Co, Library and made copies of all documents there with McNeese on them. In reviewing the documents I am missing one page, and wonder if someone could help. In Volume XVIII November 1971 of the "South Carolina Magazine of Ancestral Research" on page 17 it talks about the formation of Chestnut Ridge Church. I have a copy of Page 18, and wonder if someone could send me what it says on page 17 about the church. Would appreciate any info anyone has on the McNeese/McNees's from this county. Thanks, Bill McNeese

He was my ggrandfather. He seems to have dropped from the sky!! He is listed on the 1850 census of Rutherford Co with mother Elizabeth (SC), Barney, Washington, Stacy, son?, and William J. There were several land grants from the Civil War and two or three of the sons were given land in both Alabama and Mississippi. I think that explains why they were all over the south. Do you have any thing that connects with this? I believe William J was a JR and his father married Saluda Nash but can't backup with facts yet. Please respond if this sounds familiar.

    2. Hi to all....I replied to this privately and then thought it might be good to send out to everyone. Have a good week! Hi.  I have a George T. Hughes married to a Lucinda Bruce (but could be wrong).  I descend from their daughter, Margaret Hughes who married Samuel Taylor Newman in 1867.  Their son, Benjamin Tillman Newman, was born in Laurens County, SC November 3, 1879.  He is my great-grandfather.  I don't know if these are the same George and Lucinda, but it seems a little coincidental, especially with the Tillman.  What do you think?  Sue
