Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YeB.2ACI/181.184 Message Board Post: I have a George A. Martin but the details are very scarce. The only info on George is that he was born 4/11/1833. His parents were Stephen G. Martin & Elizabeth Frances Garrett. George would have been 21 or so in 1854. I have no info on his marriage or where abouts, sorry. His father Stephen was born 6/5/1798 in Laurens County and died in Georgia in 1866. If you could make a match here I would be happy to send you the whole family line if you are linked.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: May, Beasley, Williams Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YeB.2ACI/251.2 Message Board Post: Here is what I have on Jeff May. This is from a book written by Sharon Doliante, a distant cousin, entitled " Maryland and Virginia Colonials: Genealogies of Some Colonial Families". Thomas Beasley, b. 1770, Amelia Co., Va; d. testate, Mar. 3, 1832, Laurens Co. SC; m. C1790, probably in Nottoway Co. VA, Martha "Patsy" (May?) who was b. 1772; d. July 1, 1831, Laurens Co. Both are buried in family cemetery, on what was their own land, but is now called the "old Dr. Tom Weir place", in the Renno section of laurens Co., and their tombstones reveal the preceding data. One (Thomas) Jefferson May is shown in settlement papers on the Estate of Thomas Beasley, to have been employed as overseer, by Thomas. In Laurens Co. Deed Bk. L,p. 149, is recorded the fact that Jefferson May was the son of "Doritha" (Dorothy) May, who on Dec. 11, 1825 sold to William May. The statement was made that William May was bonded to Thomas Beasley for $800. and holds in trust for Dorotha May's children, Jefferson May and Parthena May and other heirs of Doritha May. The widow, Dorothy May married about this time, as her (2) husband Joseph Ramage. There is more but email me directly if you want it. This is a big book. Jean Tobey
