Hello All, I am currently working on my husband's family. Researching his family seems to have become a difficult task. I've spoken to a few family members on the family, but it's pretty hard to locate ancestors without dates. Can anyone help me? The only information I have so far is the following : Lewis Hunter married Emma Dillard (both born in SC) Their children were Lloyd, Daniel, Wash, Lillar, Hattie, Emma/Euola, and Amanda Lloyd (son of Lewis and Emma) was born 8/28/89 in Clinton, Laurens Co., SC and died 3/16/29 in Fayette Co., PA. He married Lenora Wilson. Their children were Judge, Ulysses, Lenora, Daniel, and Essie. I luckily obtained Lloyd's death certificate and came upon the names of his parents. I've also tried locating them in the 1900 Census records, but either I'm not looking hard enough or they are not there. I was told in 1918 Children of Lloyd and Lenora were Judge, Ulysses, Lenora, Daniel, and Essie. I've tried locating them in the 1900 Census records, but either I'm not looking hard enough or they are not there. Can anyone help or give me some advice? Thank you and have a Happy New Year, Carolina Hunter

My census notes show a Zach Arnold in the 1810 census. The location for this could be near Bethlehem Church which is west of Waterloo between the Saluda and Reedy Rivers. Not positive about the location for that census record, and I don't know the denomination of Bethlehem Church. Richard Lorenz
I am looking for the name of the Laurens Methodist church where Zacharah, Zachanoh or Zacheriah Arnold was the minister. Does anyone know where I can look for this church? Thanks! Nancy

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YeB.2ACI/258 Message Board Post: Hello, I have information on an Isaac Anderson b. about 1785 from the Laurens area of SC who went to Ky. and married Clarinda Saxon and then the family moved with others down to Claiborne County MS. in 1811. Clarinda Saxon was a sister to my 3rd g-grandfather, Joshua Saxon. I have recently acquired a Ledger from an estate sale in Yazoo, Ms. which lists some of the family of this Clarinda who married Isaac Anderson. The Ledger says that "Isaac Anderson married in the early part of the 19th century in Kentucky and removed to South Mississippi. Not long before the War of 1812 and the Battle of New Orleans. He had come from Jamestown Colony in Va. Isaac Anderson lost his parents in childhood and was reared by his uncle Abraham Anderson. (probably in SC) Several relatives came with them to Mississippi and with them Mr and Mrs Honor West whose daughter Massie married Robert Anderson, son of Abraham Anderson, cousin to g.grandpa Isaac Anderson. They all lived near Port Gibson. They came! by flatboat to Ms. and remembered the earthquake of 1811. " There is more. If anyone can tell me the family structure of this Isaac Anderson and his wife Clarinda, I would be most greatful. Trying to piece the family together with what I already have. You may e-mail me direct. Leslie Pierce Royce ~ [email protected]

The Motes Book, page 234, gives Deed Book G, page 545, 1802, in which Joseph Motes sells negro named Violet to Wm. Fleming. Violet was willed to Joseph Motes by Mary Turk, 1799, same page of Motes Book. I believe that Joseph lived near Mountville. Richard Lorenz
My census notes show a Wm. Fleming in 1800 and 1810 census, and a Reubin Fleming in 1810. All the above locations were near Head Springs Church as far as I can tell. Not certain. Have not checked 1820 records. Richard Lorenz

Looking for info on maiden name of wife of James Henderson - the only known first name is Ann. Could she be Nancy Ann Dunlap? James supposedly was a rev. war soldier. Supposedly one of his sons was named Samuel who was married to Susannah Maddox. After Samuel died Susannah remarried. Samuel was born @ 1775 and died 1817 in Laurens Co. SC. Supposedly he had a son named John S. who was born @ 1814 and died after 1880 probably in Bartow Co. GA where John moved in the 1850's with his wife Elizabeth Janett Black and their family. Lynda
