My dad passed on stories his grandfather had told him of going off to war as a 16 year old boy. I checked with SC Archives and they had no service record for John Samuel Brasington. I was lucky enough to encounter the muster and have built on it. I later came across a great newspaper article written by a member of the company published in 1892 which briefly overviews the company. I have pieced together some data on these last 4 SC regiments raised. The standard reference materials have nothing. I owe the time and effort to my SC heritage to make sure I save one small part.
