I am researching a William BROWN who purchased land on McMichaels Creek in the 1770 time frame. From other land descriptions I gather it empties into Sugar Creek and is across a ridge from McMichaels Creek. McMichaels Creek isn't listed in the Geographic Names Information System, but Clems Branch looks like it might be in about the right spot. Does anyone know the history of the creek names? Or know anything about this William Brown, for that matter <g>
