I'm planning a trip to the Fort Worth archives branch and since it's the first time I'll venture there, I'm dropping a note to ask for advice :) from anyone who has made that trip before, and also to offer to look specific things up for anyone who might need census or other records. I'm pondering offering to transcribe one of the lancaster county censuses but I need to read more on that first. Anyway I can't do a ton of extra research but if you've got, say, a specific page or two of a specific census you'd like a copy of, I'd be happy to copy it and mail it to you. Fort Worth is the Southwest regional archive, so there's no South Carolina county/state specific information there that I'm aware of -- I'll be receiving a packet of information in a few days -- but there ought to be a copy of each census and some military records, etc. www.nara.gov has lists of the things available at the different regional archives, for newcomers. I wonder if my boss has ever had someone ask for a day off to go to the library :P Stephanie
