I have heard of a Turkish group around Jefferson,Chesterfield County, SC. Check with the Chesterfield Genealogy Soc. in Chesterfield, SC. Don't have the address in front of me. To find plenty of information on Turks in SC try Google with Brass Ankles or Brass Ankles, Turks or Melungions or Red Bones, Turks. I have done rather extensive research on the Sumter Co Turks, but find no connection to the names I am researching. That's why I am more interested in a group from Chesterfield. The Failes are suppose to have married into some Turks.
