Surnames: BLACK, Springs, Sims, Vickery, Hood Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XeB.2ACI/1485 Message Board Post: Burned courthouses and destroyed records have made it almost impossible to trace my BLACK ancestry, but I believe my BLACKs migrated from Lancaster Co. South Carolina to Butler Co. Alabama in the 1830s. My ggg-gm was Mary BLACK who showed up as a widow with seven children on the 1840 Butler Co., Alabama census. I'd appreciate information anyone has on any of the following BLACKs, since I believe they are somehow related to mine. I don't have much proof of anything, so I made some notes of dates, guesses, and questions in brackets next to the census info. 1790 Lancaster Co.
