The reason that I am asking, I've hit a brickwall for my gr grandfather, who was born in Lancaster. One of the Texas census' says that he was born in North Carolina. (I think it might be a mistake, but not sure) Any ideas would be helpful. Also, he had (4) children in Lancaster, South Carolina, so I know he was there at some point (1890 - 1900).
