I apologize in advance to any of y'all who get this more than once, but I am cross-posting to several lists at once. I am hunting for information on a NEISSEN family, probably of the Lancaster County area, in the late 1700s and/or early 1800s. I have been trying to find the maiden name of a maternal line 4xgreat grandmother. Some evidence from an old family Bible now indicates that her maiden name may have been NEISSEN. I do know that her given name was Margaret, and she was called Peggy. According to census records, she would have been born about 1797±, and died about 1882 in Flat Creek Township of Lancaster County, SC. I know nothing at all of her family. She was married at some time prior to 1825 to a man with the surname of BAKER, possibly Joseph BAKER. I don't know when he was born, but do know that he died in 1838. Any help with this mystery would be greatly appreciated. Bill Hughes [email protected]
