Billie Knight Sr. LANCASTER -- Mr. Billie C. Knight Sr., 81, died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004 at Springs Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Lancaster Memorial Park, with the Rev. Howard Allen officiating. A native of Lancaster County, Mr. Knight was a son of the late Will T. Knight and Bessie Flynn Knight. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from Springs Industries and was a Mason with Jackson Lodge 53, a Shriner and a member of Westside Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Vera Gainey Knight; his son, Billy C. Knight Jr. of Union; two sisters, Ignoma Knight Stogner and Myrtle Knight Craig, both of Lancaster, two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartley Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 310-B Bennett Center Drive, Greer, SC 29650.
