    3. MCMANUS, JR., Bernard Entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 22, 2004, Bernard Aloysius McManus, Jr., widower of Helen McInerney McManus, of Charleston, S.C. The relatives and friends of Mr. Bernard A. McManus, Jr., are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 26, 2004, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may call at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy., on Wednesday evening, between 6 and 8 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Mr. McManus was born on Friday, August 4, 1922, in Charleston, S.C., a son of Bernard Aloysius and Glen Fleming McManus. He graduated from Cathedral School, Bishop England High School, the College of Charleston and did graduate work at the University of South Carolina. Mr. McManus was special agent for the Internal Revenue Service for many years. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force in the Pacific Theater during World War II, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks Club, Blessed Sacrament Church and Perpetual Adoration. Mr. McManus is survived by his brother, Rev. Msgr. J. Fleming McManus, his cousins, Neil McManus, Gene McManus, Clarence McManus, Frank Parker, and two nephews, Jody McInerney, and Thomas McInerney.
