I do believe my choice would be Joel B. Small. My first question may just be, "what does the B. stand for?" Joel lived 70 plus years in Lancaster. I am sure he could open the door to explain where and why his father and grandfather made their way to Lancaster. I also would love to know where on the Blackmon prperty Joel was buried. The span of his life from the turn of the 19th century until after the civil war would provide much insight into the early days of the county. He like so many others worked hard and lived modestly.
