    3. Sheryl I would invite Lewis Ervin Baker to our house for Thanksgiving dinner. He was my great grandfather he was born about 1823, in Chesterfield County, SC but was located in Lancaster County on census records: in 1850 living with a family named Small in Lancaster County; in 1860, he lived at the Flint Ridge Post Office in Lancaster Co with his wife Ellender and children; then in 1870, he is back in Chesterfield County at the Old Store Precinct which is present day Pageland, SC, with wife Mary and children; in 1880 he is back in Lancaster County at Cedar Creek Twp. with no wife but five of the children. Daughter Ida J. Baker age 24 single; William R. Baker age 20 single; Thomas Baker age 13; Henry C. Baker age 10; and James Baker age 8. James was my grandfather. The wife of Lewis Baker was Mary Ellender Roberts of Chesterfield County, SC; I was able to get death certificates on all the children to verify the name of their mother. One question I would like to ask ole great grandpa Lewis is who were his parents? I think I know but am not sure. He had a sister named Queen A. Baker who married Bennet Pitman, I would ask where she and her family could be found. Queen and Lewis has a brother named John Jake Baker who married Melissa Roberts and I believe she was a sister of Mary Ellender Roberts; Lewis could answer this question too. There was one other sister, Caroline Baker who never married that I can identify by census records. There were other brothers and sisters according to the census but as we all know the early census only had the number of males and females in an age bracket not the names. If any of you see Queen A. Baker Pitman, Bennet Pitman or their children James G. Pitman born 1850; George W. Pitman born 1851; Lewis S. Pitman born 1853; Thomas L. Pitman born 1855; Jane Pitman born 1857 or John Pitman born Feb 1860 please tell them I am looking for them. I would love to locate this family too. Maybe they could put names to the other six un-named siblings. One last question I would ask Lewis Ervin Baker is who was Margaret Dutch? Where is she? How do I find her? Well three last questions! I was told that she was a wife of Lewis Baker but I can not find anything on her. She did not give birth to any of his children so who is she?
