    2. My GGGF Jesse Meshew (sometimes spelled Messhew and/or Mesho) settled in Lancaster Co., SC, with a 1794 land grant from the then SC Governor. He married Elizabeth Croxton, daughter of Benjamin and Mary Minter Croxton. (All of their land ownership and sales documents are titled in the name of Mesho, and most deeds were witnessed by a John Mesho.) They left SC, circa 1807/8, and wound up in western Indiana (Henderson Co. for the 1810 census. They, reportedly, had four sons (Benjamin, William, Isaac and one other) and three daughters (Names unknown). They moved on to the Jackson Purchase area, circa 1824) Have been looking all of the children's names, and the names of Jesse's parents. Jesse was to have been an enlistee in Marion's group, and served on and off for approximately four years. Was, supposedly, living in the Upper PeeDee River country when he initially signed up with Reuben Hartsfield' unit, in Georgetown. SC, circa 1779/80. Any information would be appreciated.
