    3. My grandmother was Maude Virginia Plyler. She was the daughter of George Plyler. Not sure if that is his first name. Her mother or stepmother was someone named Sarah McManus. Her mother died when the children were young and then the father remarried. We know that there are many Plyler's buried in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in SC. I'm unable to get there and do the research. Maude had something like 10-12 brothers and sisters. Henry, George, Beven, were some. We don't know all of their names. Which Plyler's are you related to? Mine were from Lancaster, Chesterfield, and Union county SC. 3. I'm very interested in the family you mention....the name Beven, especially. Have you any idea where it came from? Our Plylers were from the area that was Lancaster Co SC, very near (possibly crossing) the state line into [what later was] Union Co NC. I think there's still a road named Plylers Mill Rd in Union Co NC...it's close to the Belk property. I think they must have lived south of the Belk property, near or on the state line---of course, that line seemed to wander about back then. Several of the Plylers married Belks, and some of them went to AL after 1830. I'll send what I have on Plylers if you want. Doris....A Texan in Georgia..... still shaking the family tree and dodging the nuts after 30+ years!!! ----- Original Message ----- From: "LSG" <lsgray@starpower.net> To: <SCLANCAS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, July 26, 2003 1:57 PM Subject: Re: [L'caster] Re: New Carolinas Common myfamily.com site > My grandmother was Maude Virginia Plyler. > > She was the daughter of George Plyler. 3. Bevan Plyler shows up on the 1930 census. He lived in Gills Creek, Lancaster Co., SC. His wife was Lillie. They had one son: Asher (1918). They had three daughters: Eula (1920), Edna (1926), and Thelma (1930). The family also appears on the 1920 census with the exception of the 3 daughters. Bevan Plyler was my great-grandmother's brother. He would be my great-great uncle. What Plyler's are on your family tree?
