    3. Does anyone know of a searchable site anywhere that has the full list of persons who came over with Rev. Martin on his five ships in 1772? We are looking for something like this that would, hopefully, include some descendancy on these folks and give some idea as to what became of them after arriving in SC some 226+ years ago. Any help out there? Bill Hughes [email protected] Peoria, Arizona ô¿ô SMILE, it drives the "normal" folks crazy!

    3. Frances. I believe you have given me information on my ggmother, Mary Ann Phillips Sutton, wife of Zachariah Sutton. In the 1860 Flat Creek Township, Lancaster Co., S.C. census, both are listed at the age of 28. This corresponds to your information, as being born in 1832. Can you possibly provide any other information for Mary Ann Phillips and how you are related? Thanks, David T. Sutton Hendersonville, N.C. [email protected]

    3. David, I have Mary Ann Phillips,b.1832, daughter of Robert Phillips and Susannah Baxter. The other children were Lewis Anderson, 7/27/1836, Robert Jr. 1842, Lemual Albert, John Jefferson. Robert was the son of James Phillips and Agnes Buchanan, brothers were Smith, Phillip,James. REcords show that James went to Mississippi in 1803. I hope that this helps. I apologize for not getting back to you. Frances d t s wrote: > > Flat Creek Crossroads is off Flat Creek Road, (Hwy 903) coming out of > Lancaster, S.C., which is in Lancaster County. 1. Re: [SCLANCAS-L] CATO[E]???????????????????
    2. My husband's cousin, Joyce Massey Gieck, is trying to find some branches on her and my husband's maternal grandmother's CATO/CATOE/CATOR line. Joyce is looking for an Elizabeth or possibly Savannah Elizabeth (maiden name possibly Simms/Sims/Simpson) Cato/Catoe/Cator, b. approx. 1850-1860. Elizabeth/Savannah Elizabeth Cato's children included, but were not necessarily limited to: Emma (once married to a Henry Bartlett Massey and later a Tom Swan/Swann), Jane, Marie/Minnie (married a Comer or Comur; died in Densmore/Jacksonville, Florida in 1950), Robert, and Lewis/Louis Cato. Joyce has info. from Elizabeth's sons that they had different fathers - one a JP Cato and the other a William Cato. In 1910, Elizabeth was recorded as widowed in South Carolina under the name of CATOR. The Massey line lived in Lancaster/Kershaw County, SC area for many decades. In fact, Emma Cato (Elizabeth/Savannah Cato/Catoe/Cator's daughter) and Henry Bartlett Massey lived in that area after they married (late 1800s) and many of their descendants live there today . We are uncertain, however, if Elizabeth/Savannah Cato/Catoe/Cator's family was from that area or if they moved there from another state. Does your family line have any connection to ours? PLEASE LET ME KNOW EITHER WAY. I hope we can help each other in this search!!! Thanks for any info. you may be able to provide. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! 1. [SCLANCAS-L] BLACK Family
    2. Hello everyone, I'm new to this list and looking for info on the following BLACKs: HUGH BLACK, SR., HUGH BLACK,JR., ROBERT BLACK, JOHN BLACK, JANE BLACK, ELENOR BLACK, LYDIA BLACK, AND ANANIAS BLACK. They lived in Lancaster County between 1770-1840. Ananias received a land grant c.1773. A lookup volunteer found a deed to HUGH BLACK from FRANCES ADAMS for 150 acres on the Wateree (Catawba?) River in 1800. By 1840, the above mentioned Blacks were gone from the area; at least they were not in the 1840 SC Census Index, but two households of Blacks were on the 1850 index in Lancaster Census. My Blacks left SC c. early 1830's and settled in Butler County, AL. My ggg-grandmother MARY BLACK appeared on the 1840 Butler County census as a widow with seven children. I am trying to find proof of her husband's name. I would be eternally grateful if anyone could find a marriage of a ROBERT BLACK to MARY (possibly Jesse?) c. 1820 in Lancaster County or nearby. The Robert Black household on the 1830 census fits Mary's family (ages and sexes are perfect). Also, there is a marriage connection in my Black family with the SIMS family of Lancaster County, some of whom also migrated to Butler County. Does anyone out there know how to connect any of the above-mentioned BLACKS? Thanks for any help. Cheryll Morris Sumner Mobile, AL

    3. While I have no direct ties to the Croxton family, my interest revolves around thier marriages into families that the Brasington's are married into. Also my great great grandfather was a major influence on Rev. John S. Croxton of Heath Springs, S.C. Not only did Rev William Figuars Brasington baptize John Croxton and provided guidance to help him determine the extent of his calling to preach, he provided support and assistance during his formulative years as a preacher. Rev Croxton wrote one of two obits at the death of my gg grandfather. I have Elizabeth Croxton in my data but no descendants. I have her siblings, and back to her grand grandparents. I have found a site on John S Croxton's line, from a guy in Alaska, I think. Anyway I can help you?
